Sigma Walk Against Drug Abuse

In a vibrant celebration of International Youth Day, SIGMA CLUB spearheaded a dynamic march across the university campus, themed “The Digital Detox: Embracing Digital Solutions to Combat Drug Abuse.” The procession, which began at 10 AM from the SUB Car Park, featured Olamilekan Micheal Ajibola (O MA) the Sigma Chief, spirited Loyal Sigmites, and a lively band driving the event’s energy.

Marchers made their way through notable campus landmarks, including Jaja Clinic and major residence halls such as Bello Hall, Kuti Hall, Zik Hall, Independence Hall, Idia Hall, and Queen’s Hall. Along the route, participants carried impactful banners and placards boldly declaring, “Say No to Drug Abuse!”

This initiative, in collaboration with the Anti-Drug Misuse and Abuse Program (ADMAP), UI Chapter, aimed to heighten awareness and provide practical support. Throughout the walk, fliers offering helplines and tips for overcoming addiction were distributed to the university community.

The march ended at the main gate, leaving a powerful message that resonated throughout the campus.
